Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve students' learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education by implementing a problem-based learning (PBL) model assisted by visual media in grade VI students of SDN 1 Paraduan. The research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle was conducted on September 17, 2024, from the first to the third lesson period, with a total duration of 105 minutes, divided into 15 minutes for the opening activity, 75 minutes for the core activities, and 15 minutes for the closing activity. The second cycle was conducted on September 19, 2024, with the same duration. The results showed a significant increase in students' learning outcomes after the implementation of the PBL model, with the average score increasing from 77 in the first cycle to 85 in the second cycle. This indicates that the PBL model is effective in improving students' learning motivation and understanding of religious concepts.
